The Future
Deploying future-ready technology has allowed the health board to further leverage the handsets, and additional integration is already planned. Maintel has now been contracted to integrate the system with PatientTrak, which can offer real time cloud-based patient tracking, enabling early clinical intervention. The solution provides mobile access to clinical data by delivering updates, test results and monitoring reports directly to handsets.
NHS Lanarkshire have further aspirations for the system, with future evolution potentially including consolidation of facilities management hardware to a single Ascom device that could monitor staff locations across an acute site and receive alerts from fire alarms, drugs fridge temperature controls and more.
Now the solution is in place, exploring further system enhancements will allow NHS Lanarkshire to reap the benefits of the new technology’s capabilities and achieve maximum value from their investment.
